Story
The “mountain men” were the hunters and trappers who fiercely strode the Rocky Mountains in the early to mid-1800s. They braved the elements in search of the skins of beavers and other wild animals, to sell or barter for goods. The lifestyle of the mountain men could be harsh, existing as they did among animals, and spending most of their days and nights living and camping out in the great unexplored wilds of the Rockies.

Enthralled by its windswept beauty, they soon were the proud and startled owners of a near-derelict croft house - a farmer’s stone cottage - on “a small acre” of land. Mary assumed duties as the island’s district nurse.

Intrigued by the snail’s clear decision making abilities, hydraulic locomotion, mysterious courtship, and molluscan anatomy, Bailey takes the listener deep into the life of this tiny amazing animal. With wit and grace, The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating recounts a remarkable journey of human and gastropod survival and resilience, and shows how the natural world illuminates our own human existence. Nice begginers guide to traveling
I listened to this book to see if there was anything new that I could figure out for traveling on a budget. I have spent some time traveling as well as looking into budget travel before, so there were a lot of things that were not new to me.
There were a few nice things that I did hear that I wouldn't have thought of on my own. There were a few sites and travel apps mentioned in the book that I don't believe that I knew about or had forgotten. It was also beneficial that there was a list of places to go that are not to expensive travel in, though the list may change as time goes on.
I will admit that I am a little stickler on the performance of the narrator. At the beginning of the reading, the narrator sounded a bit robotic to me but slowly seemed a little more personal. There also appeared to be a few parts where the audio editing was not as fluid, but that's just me.
