 梅津長門という旗本が吉原大坂屋の花鳥という遊女に通うようになった。これが過ぎて、金もなくなり身動きできなくなった。大音寺前で遊びに行くところの町人を斬り殺して２００両を取り上げ吉原に向かう。捕り方が大坂屋を囲んだが、花鳥は梅津を逃がしたいと道中差しを渡し、油の入った器を持ってきた。道中差しで捕り手を切り、障子に油を掛けて火を放って梅津は逃げる。
