神への忠実さを基準に、分裂した北王国イスラエルと南王国ユダの王の治世が交互に描かれ、両国の出来事が比較できることが特徴です。
【列王記下】(25トラック・719節・210分)
北王国イスラエルと南王国ユダの300年にわたる歴史を語り伝える書が列王記下です。
この書には、アッシリアによる北王国イスラエルの占領、そして、バビロニア帝国による南王国ユダの都エルサレム陥落、
それに続くバビロン捕囚という、二つの王国が悲劇的な最後を遂げる両国の歴史が記されています。

歴代誌上はアダムからバビロン捕囚までの神の民の歴史を長い系図によってたどり、
後半から、ダビデ王の生涯をサムエル記下とは違った視点で描いた書物です。
【歴代誌下】(36トラック・822節・268分)
歴代誌下では、父ダビデからの王位を引き継いだソロモンによる神殿建設から、南北王国の分裂、そして、バビロン捕囚と帰還までが描かれています。
歴代誌は、バビロン捕囚から帰還した民に向けて書かれたものでした。
【エズラ記】(10トラック・282節・84分)
エズラ記とその次のネヘミヤ記はもともとひとつの書でした。こ
の書は、バビロン捕囚からの帰還後、ユダヤ教と呼ばれる宗教共同体の形成過程において重要な働きをした、司祭エズラと、ペルシアの高官ネヘミヤの活躍を描いています。
【ネヘミヤ記】(13トラック・402節・112分)
ネヘミヤ記では、ペルシアからユダの総督に任命された献酌官ネヘミヤによってエルサレムの城壁が再建される過程を描いています。
後半ではエルサレムに帰ってきた人々の名を列挙し、イスラエルの神に忠実であろうとする人々の決意を伝えています。
【エステル記】(10トラック・167節・56分)
エステル記は、主人公エステルが、ペルシアの宮廷でユダヤ人であるという素性を隠し王妃となり、ユダヤ人の命を狙う悪者の策略から、
自らの命をかけて同胞のユダヤの民を救うという物語です。いくつか史実とは異なる部分もあり、歴史書というより、歴史小説として書かれたと考えられています。
