About this listen

Discover signals from the spirit world and connect with those you’ve lost.

Signs of the spirit world are all around us—which means contacting loved ones and pets who have passed on is possible. This guide shows you how to communicate with the afterlife by noticing and decoding the signs and messages it sends. Author Melissa St. Hilaire explains the essential steps to sensing and understanding spirit energy, setting good intentions before contacting spirits, making a connection, and maintaining that connection for as long as you want.

Know the signs—Be ready when the spirits reach out by exploring 30 different ways they make contact, including paranormal activity, a sudden animal appearance, or targeting your senses.

Commune and connect—Learn how to keep communication open with meditation, séances, mementos, and more. Then, learn to strengthen those connections through conduits like candles or crystal balls.

The meaning in the message—From phantom flavors to psychic visions and temperature changes, learn how to interpret each sign and understand the guidance it is offering you.

At Least It Was Free

I downloaded this only because I hadn’t yet decided what to use my monthly credit on, so I browsed “included with your membership” titles. I’d never spend money on this, and if I had, I’d be returning it before it was over.

There is some decent info early on which could be somewhat helpful for the listener who is new to metaphysical phenomena, but it quickly goes south as it becomes over-the-top absurd. Not EVERYTHING is a sign from spirit, which the author would seemingly have you believe, and which could lead you to look for and find meaning in things in which there is none, providing false reassurance and leaving the listener with their head perpetually in the clouds. I mean, for example, just because it’s raining doesn’t automatically indicate there is a spirit in emotional turmoil around you. Be skeptical, but not cynical. Use your critical thinking skills to rule out EVERY other possible cause before deciding something is a message. It’s like Occam’s Razor: often, the simplest explanation is the correct one. As the saying goes, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

The narration doesn’t lend this book any credibility; if anything, it detracts from it. Her voice is better suited to children’s fairy tales and bedtime stories.
