Challenging book

Absolutely fantastic, principles we can live by, and become more like Jesus, although we have to learn to follow James's teaching to accomplish God's Will for our lives. I love listening to your books, Skip and pray that God will continue to use you mightily in His Kingdom

uncomfortable mix of sermon, theology, letter of J

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

More textual James. Less sermonizing. This series of sermons is very anachronistic representing present Christianity and placing it in 50 AD . The Trinity of God,Father/Son/Holy Spirit as one was not agreed upon until the Council of Nicea in 325. Jesus did not believe himself to be God, nor did James. James was a servant of God the Father, not his brother Jesus. James was a Jew and would consider praying to Jesus as idolatry.

What could Skip Heitzig have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Paul was "Salvation by Faith". James said "faith without works is dead";. The author should have brought in more context of the time, 1st century Judaism, and less of his own opiniion

How could the performance have been better?

more accurate history, understanding the context of Jewish Jesus and James
