小川未明の童話 全705話を朗読で収録しています。
小川未明は数多くの作品を残していることから、「日本のアンデルセン」、日本児童文学の父」と称されています。生まれは1882年(明治15年)、新潟県高田(現上越市)。坪内逍遙などから学び、後に逍遥から「未明」の号を授かります。1961年(昭和36年)、享79歳で没。没後は上越市により新人発掘のコンクール、小川未明文学賞が創設されています。
小川未明の作品は、明治~昭和にかけての日本の生活や戦時中の背景が描かれているものがあり、物語を通じて日本の歩みを感じることができます。物語の中には社会批判、人間の悪しき心が垣間見られ、善悪の判断がつかない子供たちへの正しい道筋となる作品もあります。美しい文章で語られる未明の世界をご堪能下さい。

<小川未明(おがわ・みめい)>
1882年4月7日-1961年5月11日
小説家・児童文学作家。本名は小川 健作(おがわ けんさく)。
「日本のアンデルセン」「日本児童文学の父」と呼ばれる。
新潟県高田(現上越市)に生まれる。
東京専門学校(早稲田大学の前身)専門部哲学科を経て大学部英文科を卒業。 坪内逍遙に師事し、島村抱月やラフカディオ・ハーン(小泉八雲)らにも影響を受けた。
在学中に処女作「漂浪児」を発表し、逍遥から「未明」の号を与えられ、 卒業直前に発表した「霰に霙」で小説家としての地位を築く。 1925年に早大童話会を立ち上げ、1926年以降は童話作家に専念する。
代表作は、「金の輪」(労働文学)、「赤い蝋燭と人魚」(朝日新聞) 「月夜と眼鏡」(赤い鳥)、「野薔薇」(小さな草と太陽)など。
