Reunited in their quest to hunt giant elk in the wilds of Arizona, Cody and his oldest friend, Jeremiah "Liver Eatin'" Johnson, embark on a long trek to California. Each man has his own reasons for going. Jeremiah to seek a daughter he never knew. Cody to visit the winery he co-founded almost ten years ago with his lost love, Jamie Sutter, and to find out what's happened to the fortunes he left in a bank there. As always in the wilderness, dangers abound.
