Meet Daniel Santiago, a boy who runs headfirst into adventure. He begins his search for belonging by jumping off the porch of his uncle’s farm, but little does he know that enemies and allies are difficult to distinguish between on the open road. Dubious characters test Daniel’s discernment as he encounters Fortuna (the Roman goddess of fortune and luck), a fire-breathing dragon that wants him to sign a contract for his soul (or rather, just the rights to his book deal), and an imp that shows him the full spectrum of human emotion.
