About this listen

Pamela Bentley is a pretty young woman in her mid-twenties that works in the Walker home as a server in the kitchen. Bessie, the cook, has taken her under her wing and is teaching her the secrets of how to be a good cook. One November morning she's on her way to the dining room to make sure everything is ready for breakfast and is startled by a handsome man sitting in the dark when she turns on the light.

They introduce themselves...and without the other knowing, they are attracted to each other. Bessie warns Pamela that there are other fish in the sea and Ronald Walker knows his family would be upset if he dares to mix with the hired help! Love, however, knows no boundaries.

Without planning to the two inadvertently keep running into each other...and their love begins to grow. Ronald's heart belongs to Pamela, but his mother has another young woman in mind for him. He wants a bride for Thanksgiving; but will it be the bride he truly wants?

not sure about virtual voice

I would have preferred a live voice actor over the use of the virtual voice which was a little flat.

Not a fan of AI narration or trying to figure out the time period

The narrator or AI voice doesn't work very well, as it does not capture the true voice or feelings of the characters presented. also, I was trying to figure out what time period the story is meant to be in because it seems like it should be set in the 19th and early 20th century, yet because the girl takes a bus, Victoria Eagles wears a Gucci suit, and Ronald Walker asks if she likes convertable cars. The story is rather wholesome but still not the best.
