Critic reviews

“This well-written brief biography requires a thoughtful presentation, which is exactly how John H. Mayer handles his duties…Mayer's conversational style is much like that of a seasoned teacher whose delivery keeps his class engaged…Mayer's skill with German vocabulary and names adds authenticity.” ( AudioFile)
"Fascinating reading." ( Booklist)
"An engrossing book...excellent." ( Oahu Sun Press)

Good book that is hampered by poor audio. John Mayer does a fine job reading this book to us. His style and delivery make this an easy and fun book to listen to. The problem is with the audio quality ( or lack of it ). This sounds more like a high school project rather then a historical thesis.

The "sthick" for this book is that it concerns itself with little know information abut Hitlers llfe and personality. Examples of this are that other books tell of Hitler being a vegetarian but this book tells us how this came to be. There are parts of this book that I dismiss such as the topic of Hitler's sexuality. Somehow, I cant picture this in my mind as described by the author.

I personally would have liked this book to be longer. The book seems to deal heavily with pre-war Hitler but then races to the end for the time frame 1940 - 1945.

This book is recommended for the WWII buff.

Good book ....

I thought I’d be able to have some understanding of what it was in Adolph Hitlers life that happened that could’ve made him turn out so evil by reading this book. Other than some factual details of his ‘career’ and hearing that he only had one testicle this book wasn’t very informative. No information about his early life, the abuse of his stepfather, or his near drowning as a child were even mentioned. So now after reading the entire book, I still don’t know very much about him.
Other than that... the narrator did a decent job of reading the book.

Disappointed
