About this listen

Detective Lauren Bruni has dealt with death for her entire life. She has watched it ruin lives, and brought people closer together. Her job taught her to separate fact from fiction. But on a cold December day, all Lauren had believed in would be shattered and tossed aside. Thrust in a world unlike any she has seen before, she investigates a prominent figure's grisly murder, and searches for answers along a strange new set of people. With a killer watching her every move in the background ready to strike again at a moment's notice.

What is the secret of the death at the North Pole, and what is the larger horror at hand? Life lessons are learned and Lauren comes to the realization that sometimes the most real things in this world are the ones we believe in the least.

Wow! Holiday Horror!!

What did you love best about A Death at the North Pole?

I really liked the growth of the character Lauren. She started off crass and harsh at the start of the book and really transformed into a likable character. The whimsical nature and dark humor in the book was brilliant also!

What did you like best about this story?

I loved that the author took a sensitive nature, such as killing Santa Claus and turned it into a fun tale of horror.

Which character – as performed by Shandon Loring – was your favorite?

Hands down Candor!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Well, my stomach churned in the morgue scene. It was a little hardcore in my opinion.

Any additional comments?

Loved it. Will be looking for more from this author.

Too Much Horror for Me

If you like a good dose of horror in your holiday you might like this, but it was way too gory for me.

Couldn't even make it through first chapter

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I can't imagine who might enjoy this nonsense.

What was most disappointing about Joel M. Andre’s story?

Tripe. Silly nonsense, no character development whatsoever.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Shandon Loring?

Poor narrator. I guess he tried his best.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

None whatsoever.
