About this listen

After she learns the details surrounding Haven’s disappearance, she is angry but keeps her anger at bay so she won’t cause further pain for her family. As she copes with Haven’s disappearance, she discovers a shocking betrayal that makes keeping her family together nearly impossible.

Rueben Owens can barely stand seeing his family in agony. He feels helpless and like a failure for not protecting his daughter. He does all he can to comfort his wife Melody and daughter Sydney. But Rueben is keeping a secret that can tear his family’s world further apart.

Sydney Owens feels an extreme amount of guilt about her sister’s disappearance. It’s hard to live with her parents every day because she feels their judgment. Sydney tries to cope by spending time with someone her parents disapprove of. When she realizes she should have listened to her parents it may already be too late and life as she knows it will never be the same.

Detective Austin Turner is doing all he can to make sure Haven Owens returns home to her parents safely. As he investigates her disappearance, he realizes all is not right with the Owens family. Austin tries to focus on the case, but his personal life is falling apart. He has only been married a month and problems have already started. When Austin realizes how deep his problems run, he doesn’t have a clear solution to fix them.

Confused

When this book first started I thought the focus was going to be on the missing child. But the book took a turn and I felt that it was all over the place. If my child was missing that would be my primary focus. I would not be out shopping with my other child that’s 16 and pregnant. Nor would I be having an affair.
