About this listen

A year’s worth of novellas from twelve inspirational romance authors. Happily ever after guaranteed. Allie left the love of her life at the altar - to save him from a lifetime of heartbreak. When a Valentine’s Day wedding brings them back together, she struggles against her family’s destructive history. Can Allie ever realize that a marriage is so much more than a wedding dress? History repeats itself when Allie Andrews escapes the church on her wedding day - in the same dress passed down for generations and worn by all the women in her family - women with a long history of failed marriages.

Allie loves Marcus, but fears she’s destined to repeat her family’s mistakes. She can’t bear to hurt Marcus worse. Marcus Hall never stopped loving Allie and can only think of one reason she left him at the altar - him.

When the two are thrown together for his sister’s Valentine’s Day wedding, he discovers the truth and realizes their story might be far from over. Can Allie shuck expectation and discover who she is as a bride and in the Bride of Christ? And if she ever walks down the aisle, what dress will she wear?

Sweet but not realistic

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Yes, I like Christian inspirational romances but this book and all the books in this a Year of Wedding Novellas that started in December with a Bride in December are touting this unrealistic idea that God has "picked out the one" and you just need to "pray" and you will somehow magically know.

Newsflash, that is not true and I do not like these myths being perpetuated in these books/

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

It was enjoyable as it,

What three words best describe Amber Quick’s performance?

sweet, okay,

Was A February Bride worth the listening time?

so-so

Any additional comments?

Good series but I think it contributes to an unrealistic fantasy of finding the "one" that "God Picked out for Me" that will unfortunately make people miss reality and discovering the point that you become the "right" one and another "right" one whom is emotionally and mentally healthy and you get together and have a healthy marriage. It is two people who want to be together that come together by choice not because "God Made me do it" or because you "need" to but because you are whole in Christ and you love and want to be with this person. I hope people can get that difference and just enjoy the romantic parts of the story and see the virtue and value in being honest with each other that I think the author is trying to convey in this romantic scenario and working past the differences.

It is about the marriage not the fancy wedding that is over in 3 hours and then you look at the guy and go what was I thinking.
