About this listen

In a world where the elite descendants of the old-era are blissfully ignorant as they play their games and view their screens, they remain safe from the ravages of nature with an enormous perimeter shield that protects their whole civilization. When the shield was activated, it permanently altered the atmosphere, causing a chain reaction that resulted in everyone on earth developing extra cerebral abilities. The Federation was quick to mandate chips that would inhibit these abilities, forcing its citizens to rely on a serum synthesized to activate one's abilities for the length of the dose. This let the games evolve into more dangerous and thrilling entertainment.

The year is 2640, a scattered group of families, labelled the Seds by the Federation, live in hiding while many of their offspring are imprisoned within the Boost Academy. Tara, a fierce-spirited young brown woman, is among those held in the grade F Training compound. She has been hiding the truth about her extra cerebral abilities since she was trapped inside the perimeter shield six years before. She comes from the outside where humans evolved without chips and continued to thrive among nature since the time of the Great Unrest (what would be considered present-day late-stage capitalism). Faced with the fear of her ability being discovered, Tara will stop at nothing to escape from the Federation and reunite with her mother
