In Victoria Laurie's new Psychic Eye mystery, Abby Cooper learns that following the money often leads to murder....
Professional psychics learn to deal with skeptics, but Abby has to prepare herself for one steep uphill battle when she's sent to San Diego to help train FBI officers to use their intuition. Her first challenge: a series of bank robberies in which the thieves made off with loads of cash but left no clues.
Abby's sixth sense leads her team to a tract of land recently cleared for development. But instead of finding clues to the cash, Abby gets a vision of four buried bodies. A site search turns up some bones and pottery from an American Indian tribe, but that's still enough to delay construction for years.
With a furious developer and dubious FBI agents on her back, Abby is losing credibility fast. But unlike the best laid plans, Abby's talent rarely leads her astray. And if the bodies aren't there yet, that means that four deaths can still be stopped. She'll just have to dig a little deeper....

It was understandable then that upon her arrival in California, she felt incredibly defensive. It was a good thing that Candace took it upon herself and disobeyed a direct order from her husband, special agent in charge of the Texas field office, and met up with Abby at the airport to accompany her. Candace helped Abby stay calm, reflecting her own mental attitude, training her again in various fitness routines, and improving her diet.
On her first day in California the agents all attempted to disprove her psychic abilities. One nasty agent used his wife as his "test subject" and found out his wife was pregnant even before she'd had a chance to share the news. This got a toe in the door and led to her finding crucial evidence for a friendlier agent. She repeated this with a harder case the next day.
As Abby got to know about the agents and their most active cases, she became very interested in a series of bank robberies done by four people dressed as ninjas so virtually no part of their bodies was visible. With Candace's help, Abby begins to investigate the robberies currently being looked into by two of the rudest agents. She pursued while being laughed at, until she stopped a bulldozer from destroying evidence. Now the two agents were rude and mean and angry along with city politicians and government officials.
If you enjoy this series as much as I do, you will know that Abby kept investigating with Candace in her shadow when needed, in this 14th entry in the "Psychic Eye Series." Their husbands kept them apprised of the pool on what day Abby would return to Texas, a number that changed often.
This book flowed so beautifully that before I expected, I was at the end! In less than 24 hours I had read the entire book. I have listened to each series title on audiobook, so I was accustomed to and enjoyed the narration of Elizabeth Michaels. She does not provide endless impersonations, yet I had no trouble knowing who was speaking. A poignant scene in which Abby is sharing her frustration with her best friend, Candace has some wonderful and pertinent advice on turning a situation around to see it differently and leave herself less stressed. It never sounded preachy or that Candace was "better than" Abby. I heard it as friend sharing an important lesson she'd had to learn with a friend.
An excellent entry in this ever entertaining series.

What made the experience of listening to A Grave Prediction the most enjoyable?
The story line was compelling and the final outcome was difficult to detect. The character development in this series is excellent. How could the performance have been better?
The reader's voice, in my opinion, was not suitable to depict mature, successful women, rather it is more appropriate to teen stories, or even younger. I certainly would not choose this narrator again. One of the best in the series

And as always Xe Sands in the best at narrating Abby Cooper.
