What a joy.

I read this book when it first came out and thoroughly enjoyed it. This audio version of the book also did not disappoint. The narrator was easy to listen to and really brought the characters to life. The story was sweet and charming. Well worth the listen.

Faith of a child

This is a sweet mail order bride (of sorts), story of a young girl praying for a mother. Can the prayers of a child and a series of circumstances bring two people together? A quick story for a pleasant afternoon escape.

A Child Knows Best

Wonderful narrator. Harlan adopted a brother and sister, Clay and Millie, from the Orphan Train. Life is going well, until Millie wants a Mother and Harlan needs a horse trainer. When Millie tells the housekeeper, her dreams, the housekeeper thinks she can help her. A friend back in Pennsylvania has a daughter who trains horses, so she sends a letter out right away. Elise is surprised to receive the letter and accepts right away. Her dream of being a horse trainer is coming true. Could a conversation with a stranger on the train, derail everyone's dreams. Very enjoyable book.

I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.

Excellent

As always Barbara’s books do not disappoint. Well written, entertaining, sweet historical romance. Their story was believable and warm. It’s always great to read about women in the old west in non traditional occupations.

Genuine Love

A heartwarming story of love and family. An independent lady horse trainer. A little girl who wants a momma. A little danger and suspense thrown in to keep readers/listeners interested and you have a very good story. I enjoyed this one as well as many others by this author.

The narrative was well done on this.

Fantastic

I listened to this one on audio. The narrator, Wendy Arcega, did a great job in bringing this story to life.

This is a fantastic book. I love the twist with mail-order bride / mail-order mama. Of course, Barbara Goss does a fantastic job of creating relatable characters and an interesting storyline that will keep you on your toes. She brings out emotions every time she writes a book. This one had me happy, sad, angry, anxious, and others as well.

The multi-layered cover is amazing. As always, I LOVE when the series is on the front cover of the book. It's just gorgeous.

What a special story

5 stars easily
What a special story of “don’t trust a stranger”, to proving oneself, to friendship, to kidnapping to shootout, to love and to family. This story has it all. Written so nicely that you feel you are right there among them.
This is a part of a series but you don’t have to read the others before this to understand what’s going on. ( I didn’t and I was just fine)
I listened to this story and the lady that read it to us did a great job at changing voices for characters and tones to set the scene.
There is no sexual references or language so I can recommend this to my advanced reading preteen friends and adults who like drama, adventure, and romance .

Sweet Romance

This was a delightful romance with a lot of adventure. Six-year- old Millie does her best to bring Harlan and Elise together, but it proves to be a tougher project than she had dreamed of. There are moments when she despairs and times when she is filled with hope. This is such a good book for Christian romance lovers.

The narration was so good and adds to the pleasure of listening.

Fun story

I enjoyed this story a lot and since the story still involved a letter it still is a mail order bride story in its own way. The narrator was interesting to listen to and really made the story come alive with the way she read it. This had a good flow and a good pace to the story with characters that worked well for the story.

Sweet

A sweet story of a little girl wishing for a mother, a young horsewoman who only wants to continue training horses and a man just willing to run his breeding stable and raise his young children and marriage was the last thing in his man.; until they met.

A sweet and delightful story, one to brighten a dull day.
