About this listen
Tess Porter set out across the country to start a new life with her estranged father on the dangerous Colorado Frontier. When she arrives in Denver City to a tragedy, she struggles to keep her dream alive and get the justice she so desperately needs.
Former outlaw turned rancher, Ian Bidwell, spent most of his life ransacking the dreams of others, until he met Christ. He severs ties from his overbearing uncle, a man desperate for Tess's land, and offers to help her.
As the two work together to run the ranch, Tess questions his loyalties. Will Tess learn the power of trust and allow Ian back in to her heart? Will Ian learn forgiveness in this sweeping love story set on the American Frontier?
Find out if love will prevail in this Christian historical romance.

Great story didn't want it to end
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes great book with lots of excitement. Love historical fiction
Who was your favorite character and why?
Oh that's a hard one. I love Tess because she is strong through so much tragedy, she is someone I could look up to. Then I love Ian just as much. He shows you what a true man is all about when it comes to loving, caring towards Tess.
Which scene was your favorite?
Hmm another hard one. Even though Tess has a brother who wants to take the ranch he still feels pulled to take care of her so even though she was knocked out he went back to check on her. I also love chapter 28 and on. So much action it was hard not to listen.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes very much so. I actually listened to 28 Chapters in one day then finished the last 4 chapters the next morning.
Any additional comments?
I absolutely love Holly Adams for the Narrator. She was amazing and made the story so rea.

A Land to Call Her Own: A Novel
"This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast."
This plot has the female protagonist as both strong and needy, quite the combination . The plot held my attention as I waited to see what comes next.
The narration was very well done.

Just so, so
Any additional comments?
I wanted to like Tess; I really did. Her constant hand-wringing and second guessing got on my nerves and her treatment of Franklin was abominable. We are supposed to let that go (I guess) because Franklin is not the love interest. However, Tess left Franklin at the alter (after agreeing to marrry him) and then walked out on him again (after agreeing to marry him.) That's cruel and heartless, Christian or not.
The story had a great beginning and you got a sense of the bad guy very early on. There were some continuity issues though. One paragraph would shift from Tess being in town to the next paragraph having her back on the ranch with no mention of how she got there. It could have been a chapter break but it wasn't narrated that way so it was jarring when it happened.
Still, it was a good story with a very pleasant narrator. I just like my heroines with a bit more backbone.
