About this listen

The New York Times bestselling author of Win the Day reminds us of the millions of miracles God performs every day and inspires us to live with a clearer sense of identity and purpose.

Think you’ve never experienced a miracle? With all due respect, you have never not. In fact, you are one!

There never has been—and there never will be—anyone else like you. That isn’t a testament to you. It’s a testament to the God who created you. Your fingerprint, eyeprint, and voiceprint are unlike anyone else’s. Simply put, you matter to God.

Most of us take everyday miracles for granted, including the one that stares back at us in the mirror. It’s time to take them for gratitude. Why is that so important? Because whatever you don’t turn into praise turns into pride. The miracle of life becomes mundane. We get so wrapped up in our own little world, we end up worshipping a god who looks like us, acts like us, and thinks like us.

It’s no wonder we’ve lost our wonder. But there is a way to recapture holy curiosity!

In A Million Little Miracles, New York Times bestselling author Mark Batterson reveals three miraculous truths that awaken us to carpe wonder for the Creator and His creation:

1. God Is Bigger Than We Think—we can rest in His wisdom and strength

2. God Is Closer Than We Realize—we never have to do life alone

3. God Is Better Than We Imagine—we can reclaim our childlike wonder

A million little miracles are waiting to be discovered, including the miracle called you.

Thanksgiving

Reading A Million Little Miracles felt like embarking on a magical school field trip, one that journeyed from the atoms within our bodies to the vastness of the cosmos. The book beautifully intertwines science, faith, and wonder, offering poems and quotes from visionaries like Einstein while reminding readers of the profound truth: what we don’t take for gratitude, we often take for granted.

Through vivid examples, it celebrates the intricacies of creation—from ants and hummingbirds to whales and jellyfish. It dives deep into the uniqueness of humanity, marveling at the individuality found in our tears, eye prints, and fingerprints. The book reinforces that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, showing that science and religion are not at odds but can coexist harmoniously.

Mark Batterson’s insights sparked a holy curiosity within me, offering a fresh appreciation for the wonders of God’s creation. Most of all, this book reminded me that we are no accident but intentional parts of a Creator’s world. It left me with a renewed admiration for both Batterson’s intellect and the miraculous intricacies of life itself.

A Two-Foot Field Trip to Change Your Outlook

Pastor Mark Batterson does it yet again with a phenomenal book that concentrates on the millions of miracles that happen all around us each and every day, and that we can notice and appreciate in a completely new way simply by taking a two-door field trip. In his usual jovial, enthusiastic, and sincere tone, Mark knocks it out of the park with deep dives into the macro and micro levels of our lives, planet, and universe as he looks up, down, around, inside, and out at a plethora of phenomena that we often take for granted instead of taking for gratitude. With statistics and stories to accompany every square inch of the material covered, his masterful combination of historical knowledge and personal anecdotes combine for a most enjoyable read or listen. Every chapter is jam-packed with impactful and mind-blowing content that keeps begging the reader/listener to ponder, “When is the last time you thanked God for…?” Through it all, we are invited to join with Mark in seeking and finding the answer to the core question that fired across his synapses many years ago: “What’s really happening when what’s happening is happening?”
