About this listen

Edinburgh, Scotland, 1815:

Richard Crampton, Earl of Shurtland, young, rich, handsome, didn't think about getting married so soon. Despite knowing that one day he would need an heir to the title. However, he didn't count on a gentleman's agreement he had made with a friend, during a night of partying in a tavern, when they were still just out of their teens...

So, the years passed and when Richard returned tired from his trip on a rainy night, the butler was waiting for him with a look on his face as if he had seen a ghost:

"Excuse me, my lord, you have a visitor..."

"Visitors? I'm tired, I've just arrived. Who would come to visit someone on a night like this?"

"A young lady who calls herself your fiancée..."

"Are you mad? I don't have a fiancée!"

"Excuse me, my lord, but have you been making false promises to any maiden?"

Richard Crampton could hardly believe what he heard and strode into the mansion. Then, he was surprised to find in his living room a beautiful young blonde woman, dressed all in white, so beautiful that she looked more like a celestial apparition, even more so all in white. Beside her, a large wooden chest lay on the carpet.

Lady Madeleine Taylor, on the verge of death due to an accident with the carriage that was taking her to meet her fiancé, suggested to her personal maid and friend that she switch places with her, because her fiancé had never seen a painting of her, their names were the same and she was as refined as a lady; her maid at first thought it was crazy and she could not accept it. However, due to the young lady's insistence, as well as the possibility of ceasing to become a maid and becoming a countess, she decided to take the risk. When she saw Count Richard Crampton, she was enchanted by his beauty and virility. However, she did not count on the traps of fate and the intrigues that could arise from all this...
