Insightful and Practical for Speech Development

I greatly appreciated the practical strategies in this audiobook. Although my son is now 12, he had a speech delay when he was younger, and we started speech therapy early on. While I was familiar with some of the techniques, this book introduced many more that I hadn't encountered before. The author's expertise truly shines through, and her narration made it a pleasure to listen to. What really hit home for me was when she said we don't always know why a child might not be talking. This really gave me comfort.

Connect with your child through new words

As a Speech Therapist with over 30 years of experience, Jane Webb is your go-to source when your child has speech difficulties. The techniques are wonderful for communication development between a child and their siblings, parents, teachers, and peers. I’ve noticed a real improvement in the use of words that were impossible for them to comprehend beforehand. To hear them speaking a new word for the first time is absolutely thrilling.

Not only do Webb's techniques increase a child's vocabulary, but they also encourage the child to use these new words confidently as if it is a game they are playing. Webb's techniques are truly groundbreaking. No more slurring of those "RRR's." If you’re looking for a reputable guide to Building your child’s early communication skills, this audiobook has it all!

A Practical and Empowering Resource

Even though I’m not a parent, I found A Parent’s Guide to Early Communication to be an incredibly insightful and practical resource for anyone involved in supporting a child’s language development. I’ve always been interested in how kids learn to communicate, and this book made it clear that with the right strategies, you don’t need to be an expert to help a child unlock their potential.

One aspect that really caught my attention was the "self-video" practice. It’s such a clever and effective tool, allowing you to reflect on your own progress with a child. Being able to see small but meaningful changes over time helps you realize the impact you’re making, even with just a few minutes a day. It’s such a motivating way to stay engaged and track progress. I highly recommended it!
