Publisher's summary

Life is looking up for magazine crafts editor Anastasia Pollack. Newly engaged, she and photojournalist fiancé Zack Barnes are on a winter cruise with her family, compliments of a Christmas gift from her half-brother-in-law. Son Alex’s girlfriend and her father have also joined them. Shortly after boarding the ship, Anastasia is approached by a man with an unusual interest in her engagement ring.

When she tells Zack of her encounter, he suggests the man might be a jewel thief scouting for his next mark. But before Anastasia can point the man out to Zack, the would-be thief approaches him, revealing his true motivation. Long-buried secrets now threaten the well-being of everyone Anastasia holds dear. And that’s before the first dead body turns up.

Another zany story

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It is so over the top! The narrator did a wonderful job and the author has a vivid imagination.
I really enjoyed not having to listen too much to the mother-in-law. This story could only have been enhanced if Anastasia's mother didn't go on the cruise but that would have changed the story dramatically.

There are several murders, plenty of suspects, and many surprises throughout the story. I like how it ended and look forward to the next installment. Ms Winston can always keep me company while I exercise.
I recommend this book it you like strong female leads.

Deadly cruise

Audiobook

Anastasia dreads her upcoming family cruise from her brother-in-law. She is expecting an awkward trip with his spoiled children but last minute appendicitis puts a hold on their travel plans. She, Zack, her boys and her mom as well as their friend and daughter are the ones who get to cruise.

But things don’t last long as bodies will start to pile up including Zach’s early release dad from prison. There seems to be killers on the loose but they soon end up dead themselves. Once again she’ll have to use her sleuthing skills to figure out who the killer is in this amusing story.

What a Crazy Cruise

This ninth book of the "Anastasia Pollack Crafting Mystery" series was entertaining. Anastasia, her two sons, her mother, and her fiancé Zack Barnes went on a cruise. After boarding the ship, an older man approached Anastasia and asked about her engagement ring. Zack warned Anastasia that a jewel thief might be looking for his next target. There were some surprising revelations in this tale. There were a lot of twists and turns. There were some quirky characters. Alexandra Bitton-Bailey's narration was great, and her performance added to the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Adventures at sea

Lois Winston gives us another fun adventure with her beloved characters, but this time she includes an adventure at sea. This was a delightful mystery that made this reader feel like I was having a bit of a vacation on a cruise ship myself. The mystery kept me guessing as to who the villain was, right to the end. Having the mysteries set on a cruise ship was a great technique for giving us a mystery set in a different venue, but at the same time still including many of our favorite characters.
