About this listen

A pop singer running from his past. A deejay who's given up on men. And the wrong number text that sparks disaster and romance.

Former boy band hottie Aiden Spark distanced himself from everything he valued - faith, family, and fame - when he lost his girlfriend. A decade later, he’s still hiding behind his grief, when he accidentally texts a woman who’s all too curious about his identity.

Burned by the men in her life, deejay Abby Dearan has chosen to focus on her newfound faith in God and use her radio presence for good. Her plans are thwarted though when a text message - and the irritating man who sent it - won’t leave her in peace.

Aiden can’t forget the woman who reminds him so much of his first love; Abby can’t remember the last time a man made her feel so beautiful. To make matters worse, it’s impossible to avoid one another when their siblings and friends - not to mention, divine intervention - keep pushing them together.

Will the sparks igniting between them end up in flames or romance?

Each book in the Spark Brothers series is a stand-alone and can be listened to separately.

Enjoyable clean romance

A Single Spark is an enjoyable, fun, original story. It’s well-written, and I enjoyed the humor and the feel-good romance. It is a Christian story, but not preachy. I really enjoy stories by Liwen Ho, and the narration is well-done. Highly recommend!

Spunky, sparkly, can’t stop!

A fun spunky heroine and a plot with plenty of spark make this a story that I absolutely couldn’t stop, once I started!
Aiden Spark was in a boy band (Yes, I pictured Justin Timberlake.). He was raised with Christian values and his girlfriend helped keep him grounded to what was important in life. Then, she gets cancer and dies. Aiden spirals out of control until the band is forced to dismantle.
Now, he hides from the world and teaches women’s studies, the last place anyone would think to look for him.
Abby has been hurt by men, most importantly her father. So when some arrogant professor mistakenly chastises her, by text, for missing a meeting during office hours; she is affronted. She’s not a student!
Her perceived idea of this professor’s hubris makes him the target of her rant on her radio show. Since this rant gleans attention, the studio agrees that she has permission to use her platform to find and make an example of this professor.
Then these two are set up on a blind date with assumed names. This will definitely go well, right?
Lorana Hoopes, who knew that you were an awesome narrator, as well as writing your own books? Wow!

Oh what a wrong text number can do.

Such a great book and it leads into a whole bunch more as there are lots of brothers. Liwen tells a great story. I’ve listened/read several of her books and she’s equally adept in several tropes. Adrian aka Zachary was a former boyband heart throb. Now 10 years later he’s hiding behind the title of professor and also living with half a heart after losing his soulmate to cancer. Abbie has been burned so bad and has been outspoken enough about her negative view of men that she’s sure she’ll never find Mr. Perfect. Oh what a wrong number on a text can set in motion. Clean and wholesome with Christian overtones.

Beautiful

A Single Spark is a beautiful story of overcoming past hurts with God’s help. It is a sweet and clean Christian romance without being preachy. The characters are well developed and realistic in nature and the storyline flows nicely and kept me engaged. The narrator gives wonderful performance.
I received a complimentary copy and have chosen to give my honest review.
