Eye opening
Okay I’m guessing I missed the memo in the very first book ha ha! This Novella just made all the titles & adventures that have happened so far “click”. Ok soo, in case you read my other reviews on this series the titles of the books are items the witches in the series need to create their spell books! While this is not always clear in the story it is certainly made clear in this Novella. Penelope & Raven go on a summer quest to retrieve all the items that Raven will need to complete her spell book. She has arrived late to the academy for reasons you know by now. So in an effort to help Her catch up to the rest of the witches in her class the 2 decide to spend the summer together traveling & gathering the supplies needed. The Rattleback skin, Sacred Tree Bark, & a Roc Feather. This Novella is a must read in between the last 2 novels. It has information you need to understand parts of book 5.
This is an amazing Novella. I’m loving the character development. A great book series so far.

An Imbalance in Magic?
I was entertained by this short novella. I enjoyed all the adventures that Penelope and Raven experienced as they delved into a deeper understanding of one another and looked for answers as to what a fated mate bonding really meant. I admired the creativity of the worldbuilding which included unusual creatures and altered consciousness. I was entertained by Zane Boyer's narration, and his performance enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to leave this review which included my honest opinions regarding this tale.

So good
A deeper look into Raven and Penelope! A great novella that fills in some extra scenes between some of the characters, and begins to answer some lingering questions! I love this series, Raven has really grown on me, even more so now.

What does it mean to be me?
What does it mean to be me? This novel is about staying true to life's challenges. I liked that we can accept our path to help others no matter what we need to be. Being different can be just what you need to complement and support other views.
The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing the story to life and conveying all of the characters' emotions in his portrayal.
