In honor of Madeleine L'Engle's 100th Birthday, fans are invited to enjoy this archival audiobook, originally recorded in 1994 and newly restored! Listen to the voice of the author, as Madeleine L'Engle reads A Wind in the Door.

Meg Murry can't help but be worried when her six-year-old brother announces there are dragons in the vegetable garden. He's so bright, and so different from other kids, he's getting bullied at school, and he is also strangely, seriously ill. But Charles Wallace is right about the dragons - actually a friendly entity who has come to help Charles Wallace fight his sickness and to take Meg and her friend Calvin O'Keefe on a terrifying, wonderful journey into galactic space - where they must battle the force of evil to save Charles Wallace and themselves.

A Wind in the Door is the second title in the Time Quintet, which consists of A Wrinkle in Time (a Newbery Medal winner), A Wind in the Door, A Swiftly Tilting Planet, Many Waters, and An Acceptable Time.

It is quite intriguing, though it is unfortunate that Progonosciss is no longer with us

The story captured my imagination and allowed me to suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy the world created by the author.

I never get tired of hearing Madeleine L'Engle read her own stories. I read them to my child when he was young, we listened to the cd's when he was a pre-teen and now I am enjoying them again in my empty nest years.

awesome story

Exciting. Imaginative. We are never too young nor too old to think again. Filled with truths.

Outstanding metaphor for truth

I'm with Meg I don't care no reason given constant mystery to the point of I didn't care either. The original wrinkle in Time is amazing fun I've read it many many times over the decades listen to it many times this I can't even get for the first few chapters and it's a short book I'm with Meg, I just don't care, it doesn't matter the book is so obtuse with its own subject matter that I just don't care if the main character is not given reason to care why should I listening in care here's a question for the Mr Jenkins setup how is it all three are okay with this whole situation with the logical one be the one who doesn't understand what's happening but no we're never explained why all three of them rather the one who is the real Mr Jenkins is totally cool with all this going on around him and if it's explained later it's much too late it's so frustrating to listen to pretty much each time Meg had an out burst of this just doesn't matter I was at that point as well except I have control and turned it off God bless this woman for writing such good books for kids like the magic in this one is long gone which is why the first one is held in such a high regard but you rarely hear of the others kind of scared to start number three or if I should even bother

sometimes books are just better without sequels
