Great Medical Murder Mystery
It's been a long time since I've read/listened to a medical mystery story. I loved reading Robin Cook's books. I really enjoyed this one, and I'll enjoy getting into the rest of this writer's books. The protagonist is very human and relatable.
I learned a lot. This is written from the perspective of an anesthesiologist doctor. I knew they're responsible for keeping you alive in surgery, but this book really drove it home! An anesthesiologist has to know how to mix chemicals and gases for the right cocktail for that individual and that type of sedation or nerve block needed. it sounds very complicated.
Kudos to this writer for being descriptive so that the reader was able to visualize the O.R. and equipment used. Also, the characters were well fleshed out and the reader could sympathize with their emotions and strife.
The ONLY reason I scored the Performance as a 3 star (it should be a 1 star, but that reduces the overall book score too low), is because AI is the narrator.

Fantastic Book, Excellent Writing
This is a fantastic medical thriller. The entire time i was listening, I felt like I was at a hospital listening in on conversations doctors were having. The storyline is suspenseful, and although I hadn't been sure if I would like the narration, I have to say it worked well for this book. Waiting for the next John Benedict book to come out on audio!

Virtual voice was not good to listen to. No emotion in story telling and mispronounced words. Sort of monotone in a lot of parts. I would recommend reading rather than listening to this book.
