Publisher's summary

Abbott and Costello were an American comedy duo composed of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, whose work on radio and in film and television made them the most popular comedy team of the 1940s and early 1950s. The show mixed comedy with musical interludes and special guests. This volume contains episodes of Abbott and Costello from 1944 through 1946 and showcases some of their most comedic shows such as "Lou Promises His Girlfriend a Job", "Bud and Lou Are in a Play", and "Lou's Christmas Party".

Not Their Best But Still Pretty Good

The Abbott and Costello radio show was at its prime in 1942-1944, getting more silly and less clever as it went along. These recordings are pretty good; the stories are not as good as those in Volume 1 but are much better than those in Volumes 3 &4. The sound quality is really pretty good all things considered. There is no listing of programs but the tracks are as follows:
12/14/1944 Christmas Shopping
12/21/1944 Lou’s Christmas Shopping
2/1/1945 Mrs. Beanbag vs. Costello
2/22/1945 With Frank Sinatra
1/18/1945 Lou’s Date with Tessie Tinfoil
1/11/1945 Costello’s Ranch House
2/15/1945 With Rudy Vallee – AFRS (Poor Sound Quality)
5/3/1945 School of Spanish Acting
3/22/1945 Costello the Cowboy
10/04/1945 Costello Owns the NBC Network
4/19/1945 Lou Goes to Charm School
4/26/1945 With the Andrews Sisters
4/5/1945 Andrews Brothers or Andrews Sisters? – AFRS (Poor Sound Quality)
12/6/1945 Working at the Firehouse
6/28/1945 Broadcast from New York
6/7/1945 The Dream Analyst
3/8/1945 The Two Dirty Bedouins – AFRS (Shortened, Poor Sound Quality)
1/25/1945 Costello Joins the Merchant Marines
11/15/1945 Going to Artie Stebbins Ranch
11/29/1945 The Gas Station
12/13/1945 Lou is a Department Store Salesman
12/13/1945 Lou is a Department Store Salesman (Same Show as Chapter 21)
12/27/1945 Lou Buys a Beauty Shop
5/2/1946 Napoleon and Josephine
2/14/1946 Mrs. Giles Gives the Boys a Job
2/21/1946 Costello Looks for a Leading Lady
10/3/1946 Costello is Incorrigible
3/14/1946 Lou Has to Pay Income Taxes
4/18/1946 Running a Pet Shop
4/25/1946 The Sheriff of North Hollywood
5/16/1946 Costello Wants to Run for Mayor
5/30/1946 With Elsa Maxwell
6/20/1946 Costello, The Butler – AFRS
2/7/1946 Looking for an Apartment
3/7/1946 Costello Discovers Uranium
For the price, this is still a pretty good deal.

No Titles, No Broadcast Dates

Just a pile of public domain recordings, assembled without any notations... no titles and no broadcast dates...with some shows (chapters) actually repeated... did anyone even bother to check these files before posting them for sale?
