About this listen

The current-day city of Fort Brazos, Texas, and the nearby Joint Reserve Base awaken to find that they have been abducted — scooped up whole and deposited inside a vast 4000-mile-long hollow alien world. Thousands have been killed in the wake of this harrowing event, leaving those who remain to fend for themselves in the absence of any outside aid. In the midst of this chaos, a power struggle between military and civilian leadership threatens to further complicate the situation.
If that were not enough to contend with, alien creatures emerge from the depths of this strange world and attack, as the survivors grapple with their changed reality. Are the people of Fort Brazos destined to be enslaved by these mysterious forces, or do they harbor a greater purpose? Resources are scarce and tensions run high as the people of Fort Brazos fight for their very lives. They must somehow come together to uncover the secrets of Awakening Day and make sure that freedom is theirs to keep as they embark upon an epic journey that will span the stars.

a great piece of hard military scifi

a great book with a great narrator makes for a phenomenal story, and a very promising start for a series

An electrifying Sci Fi that leaves you wanting more.

Patrick and Blake created a riveting story with a gut punch launch, an amplifying story arc, and an ending that can only be resolved with a series. This father/son team collaborated to create a new story in a genre packed with Aliens ending the world as we know it. For listeners such as me, Michael Kramer delivers the story with all the drama and force that the story inspires. Mission Accomplished.

To describe this book in a single sentence: Texas small town saves Humanity from/for Aliens.

Fort Brazos joins the many titles of my personal science fiction library that I will listen to or read more than once.

If you like Dennis Taylor, Robert Heinlen, or Rick Yancey, then you will also enjoy this work.

Awesome start to a series

I especially like the idea that some aliens did a copy and paste of a whole city to keep some remnant of society alive, cool concept and what a way to start the apocalyptic future!

Old school style science fiction

Intriguing premise, genuine heartfelt, the start of a long character, driven epic. Likeable characters, 1980s values set. Can’t wait for the next one. Deeply enjoyable performance as always. Might not be a bad idea to use anyway to make a new cover picture.
