An important time to understand inner workings
Joyce T. Presents us with an incredible presentation in audiobook form that delivers the inner workings of the growing brain at such an incredibly important time. I feel that if more families took understanding this kind of knowledge more seriously, then parenting skills would excel (knowledge is power), and therefore, the collective community and understanding would thrive, not only in family units, but in educational systems as well. This book emphasizes an importance on academic success by way of truly understanding the inner workings of young minds and cognition. It’s not enough to simply deliver facts in the classroom–these facts and learnings must be met with a true grasp on the students cognition and abilities–the kind of understanding that will help not only students thrive, but the educator too. The listener is met with understanding what might seem like bad behavior (autonomy development is so important), communication properly, connecting in a way that take mental health seriously, and so much more. An important listen for any educator teaching to this age.
