Publisher's summary

A madman with a mission is kidnapping groups of thrill-seeking high school seniors across the country, and it's up to Christy to stop him.

To do so, she must take on a fearless alter ego and infiltrate a group of adrenaline junkies bent on pushing life to the limit. Death-defying stunts are only the beginning: Two groups fit the profile, and Christy must discover the real target before it's too late.

If she chooses the wrong group, more people will disappear. But choosing right puts her as the prime target, with no guarantee that she'll get out alive.

Adrenaline Rush

Where does Adrenaline Rush rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It ranks pretty high in the ones I've been reviewing the last few months for authors and narrators.

What did you like best about this story?

The story follows the current distopian cult theme YA books have been taking, but has a fresh twist to it.

What about Laci Morgan’s performance did you like?

Laci was the perfect voice for this book!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I actually did read it all in one sleepless night,so yes...lol

Any additional comments?

I liked this book!I had my doubts because it was Hunger Games esque',but the story was good, well written, the narrator did a good job and the story wrapped up nicely.
I can even forgive the 'losing faith ' and praying that goes on because it did not overwhelm the story.

A ride you want to be on!

I received an audible copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

I was very impressed with this book. I had to opportunity to listen to an audible copy of this book. I was absolutely blown away by the narrator and the storyline. It took so many twists and turns that I got whiplash. The narrator was the perfect voice for Christy. My favorite part was when they were in the circus performing for their lives. I was astonished. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a new rush. It was so different and really will stay with you. My favorite character was Christy of course. She was smart and independent. She was brave and calculated. I loved her. Thank you for sharing this with me because I adored it.

Edge-of-your-seat Exciting!

Any additional comments?

Adrenaline Rush by Cindy Hogan is well written, fast paced, and consistent throughout. It reminded me a bit of the urgency that I experienced years ago while watching Point Blank mixed with the age group and adrenaline junkies found in Divergent's Dauntless.

The story centers on Christy (the heroine from Cindy's Watched trilogy) who goes undercover in an Oregon high school to stop a psychopath who kidnaps thrill-seeking high school seniors across the country. She is accepted into two separate thrill seeking groups who engage in death-defying stunts such as sky-diving, rock climbing (without harnesses) and jumping onto moving trains (and then doing acrobatic tricks on them).

I listened to the Audible version of this story. Laci Morgan did a great job narrating. She portrayed Christy as a likeable young woman surrounded by unbelievable events, never losing hope of escaping after she is snatched by the madman. Laci had great intonation and pace, keeping the story suspenseful throughout. She had differing voices for characters male and female and expressed urgency without becoming shrill, which few narrators achieve successfully.

Simply put, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audio book. Adrenaline Rush is edge-of-your-seat throughout and I highly recommend it. Great job!

needs focus and editing but enjoyable escapism YA

I think this book needed to be split - one the lighter, interesting thriller set in a high school where there are two competing thrill-seeking gangs, and maybe a separate one with the muck darker thriller about the madman with a Circus of torture and mind control. The author seems to waffle about whether to shock or to show that good girls (who don't drink, have sex, who do the right thing for the greater good and who worry about their faith in God) triumph over evil. The narration by Laci Morgan is well-done and well-edited, but the writing needed editing and focus.
