About this listen

This book provides a correlation of geological, archaeological and historical records with the Bible presented in a new perspective. Why a new perspective? This implies that previous attempts at correlating these items have not provided satisfactory answers to all the factors involved, and from my own experience, this is correct. Most Bible teaching does not include correlation of historical information from other nations with the historical events of the Israelites, and so important information is not conveyed to the student. Teachers should not be faulted for this because this type of information is not included in study material. Also, events of judgment other than the flood are looked upon as local events, even though in some cases the Scripture states otherwise. The perspective which is the basis for this book is that a series of catastrophic events in the post-flood era have had significant impact on the geological features of the earth and on the history of man, and that correlate with the Scripture. While the viewpoint of post-flood catastrophes is not necessarily new, it has not been closely related to the Scripture from a fundamental viewpoint, even though the Scripture has been used to support the general concept of multiple catastrophes. PURPOSE The purpose in preparing this material is to provide information in a single volume on geological and archeological findings and relevant ancient history records, and show that there is a consistent correlation with events recorded in the Scripture. It is also intended that this material will provide: 1. A basis for understanding much of the world topography which we have today and the recent changes which have produced it. 2. Information which will show that the idea of a stable solar system, the basic foundation for the theory of evolution, is not valid, and that an unstable solar system existed during most of the ages of early history. 3. Information to help show that basic sciences and the Scripture do agree. 4. Information to give new meaning and a new perspective to many Old Testament Scriptures, particularly in the Psalms and Prophets. 5. An understanding that the judgments of God which were “after the manner of Egypt” to be catastrophic worldwide events. Information being presented is, in most cases, not new. Some of it has been available in books, reports, and articles published over a long period of time, but not usually gathered in one place, and in many cases, not related to the Scripture. Much of this information is not in textbooks as such, although references to certain portions of it are alluded to as myths, legends, and superstitions of "ignorant" or uneducated people with little or no attempt being made to identify the basic facts which produced the myths and legends. The whole educational system has been influenced by the ideas of millions of years of time and processes of evolution as the agents which have produced life on the earth and the geological features we know today. And those who promote the idea of evolution and the development of man over millions of years of time do not wish to support ideas or information which is contrary to their views, and therefore, much of this information has been "covered up" by intentionally omitting it from textbooks. By doing so, the proponents of evolution have made it easier for people to accept their ideas since there is little contrary information available in the educational process to convince then of other ideas.
