About this listen
Why Meditation?
It is a time when people the world around, are looking for inner peace. The words 'Meditation' and 'Yoga' are carelessly bandied about. Meditation or Yoga classes have cropped up all over the world. While they do help modern man at one level, the true meaning of 'what is meditation' and 'why meditation' is lost in the mix. Many are the 'Yoga' classes that teach the asanas, or postures that are used to promote physical wellbeing. The lofty objective of the word 'Yoga' itself lost in the melee. Yoga, the word is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘Yuj,’ meaning ‘to join’ or ‘to yoke’ or ‘to unite.’ The objective being uniting the body, mind, and soul to realize the divinity that lies in each man. For, the created man the final objective is to realize his self, and Yoga is the way. It does not matter what religion or spiritual path one follows, or what this seeking of self-realization is called; ultimately, it is still this lofty ideal that everyone is looking for.
Who better to remind us of the very purpose of life and redirect us to understanding this lofty ideal than the greatest of Rishis of ancient India - Sage Agastya. This book is an effort to bring his wise teachings in a simple, easy to understand manner based on his discourses from the sacred 'Agasthiyar Vazhipaadu'. In addition, this book also presents a very powerful Yoga method that is newly introduced, known as the 'Sri Agasteeshwara Panchakshari Maha Mantra Sat Chakra Yoga'.
