About this listen
'Every new Agatha Raisin escapade is a total joy' ASHLEY JENSEN
The first Agatha Raisin mystery from bestselling author M. C. Beaton

Revenge is a dish best served warm...
High-flying public relations supremo Agatha Raisin has decided to take early retirement. She's off to make a new life in a picture-perfect Cotswold village. To make friends, she enters the local quiche-making competition - and to make quite sure of first prize she secretly pays a visit to a London deli.
Alas, the competition judge succumbs after tasting her perfect quiche, and Agatha is revealed as a cheat and potential poisoner. Definitely not the best start. So Agatha must turn amateur sleuth - she's absolutely got to track down the real killer!

an enjoyable listen
Penelope Keith is a fantastic narrator and the story is extremely enjoyable. For the first story in a series this is a better start for M C Beaton than the Hamish McBeth novels. Worth a listen!

Exactly what I was after!
M.C.Beaton has introduced a lovely invention in Agatha Raisin; a late middle-aged lady who has sold up her PR business in London to realise a lifelong dream of living in a cottage in the Cotswolds. Far from being a paragon, Agatha has spent her working life bullying and manipulating to succeed in a cutthroat business and finds with a shock that her new idyllic setting may require her to, as one potential friend suggests, "learn to like people".
The plotline is entertaining, the characters colourful, the heroine amusingly flawed, and the performance by Penelope Keith is truly masterful.
If you are looking to be entertained this won't fail to please!

Why did the Agatha Raisin audiobooks changed????
I love Agatha Raisin! I listen to the stories over and over again!
Now in May 2023 I locked out of my Auditable account and when I locked back in I've found TO MY HORROR that all the audiobooks stories have been changed? Why is that???
I MUCH PREFER THE previous versions!
It had so much more caracter than these!
surely auditable must give us a choice if we prefer the previous versions or this new version!
I'm really not happy with this!
Just as an example in the previous version of the Quiche of Death, Roy went to buy the quiche for Agatha . Also he does not bring a friend with when he goes to visit her in the quiche of Death.
There was so much more humor in the previous version!
I really do not like the new version.
Please bring back the previous one's.
