About this listen

Transform your life. Rewrite your destiny.

In his most personal novel to date, internationally best-selling author Paulo Coelho returns with a remarkable journey of self-discovery. Like the main character in his much-beloved The Alchemist, Paulo is facing a grave crisis of faith. As he seeks a path of spiritual renewal and growth, he decides to begin again: to travel, to experiment, to reconnect with people and the landscapes around him.

Setting off to Africa, and then to Europe and Asia via the Trans-Siberian Railway, he initiates a journey to revitalize his energy and passion. Even so, he never expects to meet Hilal. A gifted young violinist, she is the woman Paulo loved five hundred years before - and the woman he betrayed in an act of cowardice so far-reaching that it prevents him from finding real happiness in this life. Together they will initiate a mystical voyage through time and space, traveling a path that teaches love, forgiveness, and the courage to overcome life’s inevitable challenges. Beautiful and inspiring, Aleph invites us to consider the meaning of our own personal journeys: Are we where we want to be, doing what we want to do?

Some books are read. Aleph is lived.

Im a Paulo Coeljo fan!

I always find a hidden message from Paulo Coelho that feels that it was written specifically for me. This book was not the same as previous ones. I find his other books more entrancing than this one. At the beginning i almost lost interest, and the narrative seems to have changed a bit towards the end. However, his work is always exquisite and I am glad i pushed thru to the end. This book is worth reading, or better said listening to.

Mind-blowing

What made the experience of listening to Aleph the most enjoyable?

GREAT BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!! Could not stop listening to for 3 days straight!!!!! It''s just Coelho's BEST book. As all of his books are based on personal development, this books talks more about past lives and others ways to recognice your soul mate. Just great!

Started off slow but got better

I had started this book several times but lost interest. Then for some reason I decided to give it a second chance and wound up loving the book. Interesting ideas about how past lives affect and influence the present. All in all it's a great listen once you get over the beginning

Ok, but preferred The Alchemist

Overall an interesting book. Not fabulous, but entertaining most of the time. The story was a bit too long and I lost interest in some of the main characters.
Also, I would have preferred the narrator have a Brazilian accent to go along with the fact that the author is talking about being Brazilian.

Good book not performed well

The story was great. True Paulo Coelho and his unique perspective on the spiritual life. The narrator was a struggle. The main female character sounded like she was whining throughout the whole book. Annoying. I think his books are better narrated by females.

A Journey to Forgiveness

If this was written to expose the reader to the confessions of an arrogant write while seeking forgiveness of cowardice and the consequences of self gratification while ignoring the tragedies inflicted to his closest followers. Injury to soul and body, wrecklessy caused by his selfish actions. He has succeeded.

I enjoyed Paulo Cuelho's novel, "O Alquemista", well written, and completed by the author in just two weeks.

The Aleph, not so much.

Not enough stories shared so candidly as this...

Any additional comments?

Paulo Coelho share's the gift of his life and all it's humanity a step further with his latest autobiographical piece. Rich in wisdom, dedication to the inner journey and living for the sake of the truth whatever it turns out to be...feeling gratitude for his continued willingness to share so candidly.

Mark Bramhall does a marvelous job reading...excellent!

Would you consider the audio edition of Aleph to be better than the print version?

I love the alchemist! Nothing can top that!! However, I loved the book except Chapter 13
