About this listen
Just before the outbreak of World War II, Fabienne, a young German girl, flees her abusive, widowed father and takes a job caring for disabled children in a home on the outskirts of Berlin. When Jurgen, a young soldier, turns up on the doorstep of the home asking if he can take Fabienne to the local dance, the women running the organisation agree against their better judgement. Soon the young couple is in love.
With the rise of Hitler and the Nazi party comes persecution of anyone seen to be “inferior to the German master race”. This includes children with disabilities, and Fabienne and the women flee the Nazi wrath, taking the vulnerable children with them on an epic journey across Germany. Some will survive the Nazi punishments, others will not. But in the background is her relationship with Jurgen. Will he stay loyal or betray her to his masters in the Nazi party? When she hears that her father is in jail awaiting the death penalty for murder, she is forced to come out of hiding to visit him and make her peace. The risk is enormous, but in doing so, Fabienne learns some extraordinary news, which changes the course of her life.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

A story of hope
Almighty: Allmachtig
By: P.G.R. Wright
Interesting story line and heroes. I enjoyed this story. Set around what happen to disable person in war 2 it’s a sad story of hope and survival.
Although it doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, the story ends clearly setting out what happened.
There is violence and a few corse language words in it. No sex scenes.
Narrated by: S D Cousins dose a great job with all characters having their own unique voice. At first I didn’t think I would be able to listen to his low baritone voice but as I listen his voice added to the story.

WWII fiction with compelling characters
Almighty: Allmachtig is a compelling, well-researched story about an orphanage caretaker during the rise of the Nazi party. The author really immerses the reader in the pre-WWII setting, and the struggles of the characters really resonate.
Instead of focusing on the Jewish Holocaust, as the vast majority of this genre does, this book instead focuses on the equally tragic eugenics programs and handicapped genocide of the Nazi party.
But it's not all history - the main plot also goes deep into the compelling characters and their interpersonal relationships.
If you enjoy historical fiction, you won't want to miss this one!

Emotional read - loved
Brilliant!
This book is about a girl named Fabian that runs away from her father. Fabian takes care of handicapped children during World War II when Hitler is trying to kill all handicap adults and children. This book will have you feeling every emotion with so many twists and turns. I was crying one minute and yelling at my phone the next. This book shows the absolute beauty in the world but also dives into the ugliness that can be present in this world all too often. I loved the inclusion of the romance mixed with the history and the all too touching story.
P.G.R. Wright did a great job at putting a spin on a genre that I don't normally read/listen too because it can end up being quite boring. he has definitely peaked my attention to this era.
S D Cousins narration is astoundingly amazing. He does a brilliant job at giving each character their own unique voice. His low baritone voice added even more to the story.

MIGHTY GOOD READ!
A suspense filled novel full of twists and turns! I was drawn in from the first by the young woman whose story carries the book and her dilemma of how to improve her life. The story was full of surprises and I was so happy to see that all the characters were well rounded, with redeeming qualities despite how “bad” they sometimes appeared. The world of Germany during WWII was equally well depicted, and the author transported me to a past I’ve heard about but never experienced so fully. In fact, this visceral and visual novel would make an awesome movie. Stephen Spielberg, where are you?! Kudos to PGR Wright and to his narrator, SD Cousins, who imbued the characters and story with an additional layer with his excellent reading of this mighty good story!

An emotional, poignant read!
This was a delightful blend of romance and history in a unique setting. This book made me feel all sorts of emotions and is so well written. The characters were real, relatable and well fleshed out.
The author has skillfully captured the essence of this story and delivered it so skillfully.
SD Cousins did a fairly good audio delivery as well.

Poignant And Powerful
I very much enjoyed this poignant and powerful read. Set in the backdrop of WWII, one of the most destructive wars known to mankind, I really loved how well the writer captured the authenticity of the setting and the attitudes of the characters as Germany faces its economic crisis and the beginning of the Third Reich. Amidst this is family drama and romance. Both were very well played out. The narration was fantastic as well. Recommended.

Unique story from the author & brilliant narrator
I'm not really into novels because I tend to listen to nonfiction books. But this one is an exception, I got hooked and I finished the book in a day. If you want history and romance, this is the book that you should listen to.
