American History 101

A good book to freshen up on points of slavery, American history. Or to give to a doubting friend.

Hour not wasted

I had an hour drive and decided to learn a bit about my history. This audiobook did not disappoint. I wasn’t sure if I was going to learn something, but it is certainly enlightening. Highly recommend.

Great Start!

This, like the rest of the books in this series, is a great intro to an important subject. I really like these books. They are great starting points and as audiobooks, they are quite soothing to listen to during my morning commute. Jonathan Keeble has quickly become one of my favorite narrators.

If you are looking for a substantial and short take on the history of American slavery, this is a great start.

Mandatory Reading

Unfortunately, we, as Americans are unable to learn from our mistakes. This is in great part to the fact that our mistakes are covered, dressed up and literally missing from the history books of our education system. It takes books such as this to help define the origins and background of the jumbled mess of today's racism. When these facts are included in US History textbooks, America can truly begin to heal, rather than continuing to put a band-aid on it.

Good detail

Book was great to give you time layout and names of important people. I can see this book inspiring research that’ll give more clarity and ultimately make a historian out of you.
