About this listen

IntroductionAs most of us know, the wealthy one percent controls this country and most of the world. If we could see behind the "Great Oz Curtain", we would see who is pulling the strings of our President and even the heads of other countries. These men have stayed in the shadows until now. The need for more power and total control has finally forced their hand. This is a story of our hero, Sergeant Jack Daniels. The time is now. A terrorist attack on the United States, releasing a viral infection causing people to become flesh-eating creatures. Jack has to fall back on his special talents, abilities, and training to try and survive. Our hero is an honorable and compassionate man and always putting others before himself. Never asking for anything in return. He doesn't know it, but he is to become America's last and only hope. Please follow along as he fights to survive and save his fellow man and country! This story does have “Flesh-eating Zombies” in it, but my friends they are not what this story is about. It's about the human spirit and the will to survive, but at the same time having hope for our future. Please ride along on this journey to see where Jack takes us!I never thought of myself as being an author, but at the same time, I enjoy telling stories. Some may find clerical errors I have made, and for that, I apologize in advance. I tried to proofread it several times and have had others read it too before publishing it.That said I hope you enjoy reading this story and Thank you for giving me a chance to entertain you!“Sweat dripping off my face. I can hear them. I hope that can't smell me. I do smell bad; no shower or bath for over two weeks will do that to you. Noise and movement attract them, but I'm still not sure they can smell their prey. I surely hope not. Trapped in this hot attic, waiting. I hear them below, moving through the house. Wishing they would move on before I pass out from this heat!”My Mom named me Roy Jackson Daniels after her father, she wanted to call me Roy, but Dad always called me Jack. Dad said he liked Jack better because with all my energy I had to be 100 proof. Mom finally gave in and from then on I was Jack Daniels.I was living in Matthews. A small town right outside of Charlotte North Carolina, at the time of the outbreak. Working with a local builder installing custom cabinets in high-end homes. I've only been out of the Army for a little over six months and still trying to fit into the civilian way of life. I have tried my hand at selling used cars, working at one of the local big box stores a landscape company, and now installing custom cabinets. With no college education, My options are rather limited. But I can cover your ass in any firefight! Action & Adventure Post-Apocalyptic Science Fiction Zombie

Great start

This story was pretty good, but it sounded more like a script for a movie. It just needs a bit more polishing up. Keep up the good work and I hope to hear the rest of the story soon.
