First off, this novel is definitely best enjoyed AFTER the previous 2 entries. Both story and character development build in each. A few new characters, but many core protagonists from the first and second. Lots of interlaced references and plots that build with each installment.

This book continues the tradition of weaving together scientific explanations of typically fantasy components, with matters of faith woven throughout.

There were a few points in the audio book where I had trouble understanding what was being said, likely a mix of the distinct accent being used for a character and what seemed like mumbling (which fit the character, but still made things difficult). Thankfully, this became less of an issue after the character had been around a while.

I enjoyed the many breaks from traditional storycrafting. Though the ending doesn't answer all questions, I felt like it resolved all the key story lines.

Bottom line: different from many things I've read, but quite enjoyable storytelling.

A satisfying conclusion to an interesting trilogy!
