If you liked David Baldacci, Dean Koontz, Kendra Elliot, Jeffery Deaver, and Jim Butcher... then you'll love Amnesia by Andy Holmes.

He has no name. No past. Only a number.

When Agent 917 wakes in a seedy motel, his memory is gone. An encrypted phone buzzes with mission orders. A dime-sized implant pulses beneath his skull, awakening violent instincts he can’t explain.

The rules are simple: Kill the target. Go back to sleep.

Programmed to eliminate evil at its source, 917 is a ghost in the system — sent after a sadistic surgeon, a satanic cult hiding in the heart of New York City, a pyromaniac kidnapper hell-bent on burning the world down.

But with every mission, cracks appear in the wall of artificial amnesia. A daughter. A betrayal. A choice.

And the most dangerous question of all:

What happens if Agent 917 stops following orders?

Perfect for fans of Jason Bourne, Jack Reacher, and Orphan X.

I thought this short story was excellent. It had a captivating story line with a lot of suspense. The ending was soooo good.
I must say that I had a hard time accessing the review option. This is probably why there's no previous reviews.

excellent

The Virtual Voice detracted from an otherwise enjoyable story. Female voices are ignored throughout though there were numerous female characters.
