About this listen
Amid the Christmas chaos, a friend's urgent plea for help places one more challenge on Izzie’s already overflowing plate.
Known for his immense wealth and his impact on private healthcare services, Carson J. Keltce’s murder had ripple effects from the small town of Blanton to Baltimore and beyond. Izzie Di Sante, a restaurant owner with a passion for investigative reporting, is pulled into the investigation when her best friend calls sobbing. Nicole was living with CJ and the police have her pegged as a person of interest. The police question Nicole's involvement, given the strained relationships CJ had with his family and the secrecy surrounding his personal life.
Even though the restaurant is crazy with the Christmas holidays and Chloe's upcoming wedding, Izzie somehow makes time to look into CJ’s murder. Her questions soon ruffle someone's feathers. With each revelation, the danger intensifies, and Izzie must stay sharp to navigate the perilous path ahead and uncover the secrets that led to CJ's tragic end.
help Nicole, find a killer, deal with Christmas at the restaurant, and get ready for Chloe’s New Year’s wedding?
An Itch of Secrecy is the fifth in the Izzie Di Sante Mysteries but easily listened to as a stand-alone mystery. Recipe included.

Story
Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

Story
Kidnappers grabbed Jenna in broad daylight, right in front of her children and their horrified classmates. Her family was issued an insane ransom demand: $25 million in cash and jewels, payable by the end of the school day, otherwise they’ll never see her again. As Jenna’s mother scrambles to gather the money, detectives Mo Butler and George Ortega follow the trail of the kidnappers, which will lead them through a sordid landscape of jealous lovers, broken dreamers, and twisted schemers. A Whirlwind of Activity
This series just gets better and better with each succeeding story. I like Izzie as she always seems to be juggling so many balls in the air, and yet, she manages to pursue her passion for investigative journalism. I admire her strength and courage. I like Izzie's relationship with both her sister and her boyfriend as she takes care of them and is supportive in their pursuits. I hope there will be more stories featuring these characters. I enjoyed Liz Wylder Boyer's narration as she was entertaining. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

Mystery and Food and Romance
The author starts in directly with a description of a murder that took place and needs to be solved. The journalist who writes about the case tracks down people to interview for a human interest story. Along the way she lets the police know what she is discovering. Also, she owns a restaurant along with her sister that needs to be run and the sister is getting married. Lots of good food and friendships develop. The narrator does a good job of keeping the action moving and the characters distinguished from each other.

Excellent and engaging cozy mystery
In this 5th book, Izzie DeSante finds herself immersed in a murder investigation of her best friend’s biyfriend right before Christmas. Sure that’s her job, but she’s investigating while juggling her responsibilities at the restaurant, her sister’s wedding preparation, her boyfriend and social life! Izzie needs to make certain that the murderer is caught so she can feel safe and enjoy all her holiday plans. I enjoyed this series and the characters maturing relationships. Although this is part of an ongoing series, there is enough background that it can be read as a stand-alone. Having lived in Maryland for decades and enjoying Italian food, I love the setting and the descriptions of all the food! The narration is excellent and brings the characters and story to life.

Satisfying, entertaining and engaging!
When Nicole started dating CJ, she had NO idea he owned the company she works for! When CJ meets with an untimely end and all eyes turn her way, Nicole frantically asks best friend Izzie Di Sante for help. As Izzie juggles helping Nicole with preparing for the holidays, Chloe’s upcoming wedding, and running a busy restaurant, things get tense when it becomes clear that the killer now has Izzie in his sights! Filled with beautifully defined characters that resonate as REAL, and featuring a plot that kept me interested and engaged from beginning to end, “An Itch of Secrecy” checked all my boxes! Mystery, intrigue, action, a bit of romance, and a very satisfying reveal that left no unanswered questions! This one has it all and I loved it! Five fantastic stars!
