About this listen
From the day he was born into this world, Andy never stood a chance. Raised by abusive drug addicted parents, he was brutally tortured daily. Andy became numb to the world around him and developed a disdain for the people in it.
As he grew, the constant abuse caused his youthful mind to finally snap. Liberating himself from his parents at 17, he now has a new mission in life. He will be the worlds most notorious serial killer.
Studying all the great legendary serial killers of the past, he has perfected his skills in both killing, and not being caught. The only pleasure he feels is in the fear he causes in his victims, and the power he has over them.
Then he meets the one. A woman like none he had ever met or killed before. Intelligent and pure, she is something special. He toys with her first, feeding on her delicious fear. He cannot wait to get her into his newly crafted dungeon of horrors.

Story
Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

Story
Kidnappers grabbed Jenna in broad daylight, right in front of her children and their horrified classmates. Her family was issued an insane ransom demand: $25 million in cash and jewels, payable by the end of the school day, otherwise they’ll never see her again. As Jenna’s mother scrambles to gather the money, detectives Mo Butler and George Ortega follow the trail of the kidnappers, which will lead them through a sordid landscape of jealous lovers, broken dreamers, and twisted schemers. But every second counts, and there’s one thing Jenna Wade doesn’t have: very much time.

Page-Turner?
What do you call a page-turner for audio books? Well, whatever you call it, this book fits the description. I listened to the entire book in less than a day, stopping only to fix lunch, and restarting the audio while I ate! The author set the horrific stage for why Andy Marsh is who he is, and then fast-forwarded to his current psychotic behavior. Without divulging any spoilers, I’ll just say the last few chapters are hair-raising. I must confess, the narration in the last chapter was spine-chilling! I felt like I was in the room! Yikes!

Excellent voice
The voice is very important to me. Brad Bennett has a wonderful voice and did an excellent job! There are several audible books that I can't listen to because the voice is not pleasant. The story was good and the voice reciting the story was excellent! I will listen to all books read by Brad Bennett. Five stars! Suspenseful and interesting!

Narrator
I recently listened to Andy Marsh narrated by Brad Bennett, and I must say, their performance was exceptional. Brad Bennett brought the characters to life with their engaging and expressive voice. The way they captured the nuances of each character's personality through tone, pacing, and emotion was truly impressive.
I found myself completely immersed in the story, thanks to Brad Bennett's ability to create a vivid and captivating listening experience. Their clear diction and articulate delivery made it easy to follow along, even during more complex or intense moments in the plot.
Furthermore, Brad Bennett maintained a consistent and appropriate pace throughout the book, keeping me engaged without rushing through important scenes or dragging during slower parts.
Overall, Brad Bennett elevated the audiobook to a whole new level. Their talent and dedication to delivering an exceptional performance truly enhanced my enjoyment of the story. I would highly recommend any audiobook narrated by Brad Bennett to fellow listeners looking for an immersive and enjoyable experience.

This book is gripping and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The pacing is great as it keeps you guessing what will happen next, as you learn how Andy becomes a serial killer. The narration is top-notch as Brad Bennett's voice adds another layer to the rich storytelling.

Captivating narrator!
The narrator had my attention from the first five minutes. When I listen to audiobooks I need to visualize each character and he was able to create each one very vividly as well as each scene. I felt like I was “watching the story” and could almost smell some of the descriptions as he read.
I wasn’t a fan of the ending but, now look forward to hearing the same narrator read the sequel!

Perfect for Crime Thriller lovers!
This story will definitely make you watch your back and your surroundings more carefully. If you enjoy crime thrillers and graphic details of how and why a person BECOMES a serial killer, then this audiobook is right up your alley. The performance/narration is outstanding. The narrator does a great job distinguishing voices and puts a lot of emotion into the performance making you feel what the characters feel...sometimes in a spine-tingling way. I totally enjoyed it!
