What did you like best about Anna Karenina (Dramatised)? What did you like least?

I did not care for this dramatized version of a great story. When I have the time I will listen to the unabridged version. Tolstoy is too fine an author to shorten like this. Not my cup of tea for sure.

Not worth my time

I was attracted to this short audiobook by the performers and its conciseness. I wondered how it could have been made so short. Well, it' s limited just to the main episodes of Ana's and Vronski's love. For a listener who read the entire Ana Karenina this extract is like a delicious dessert. I enjoyed very much Ingrid Bergman's and Gregory Peck's interpretation and I hear it time and again indulging myself.
But, charming as it is, this dramatisation can't be considered a replacemant to the whole novel. Ana Karenina is a must be read or listend from the first to the last line.

Listening, I hear some backgroung sounds like the rastle in old movies. Was it made on purpose? I wouldn't miss it.
