About this listen

When Andrew - a second-hand-book dealer - comes across a pile of photographs from police archives, he decides to exhibit them. But then the gallery is raided the day before the opening, and the photos seized with surprising violence. It soon becomes clear that someone, somewhere, wants to keep the images hidden.

Who? Why? And who - in a world where kidnap, subterfuge and even murder are the norm, and where no one is safe or above suspicion - can Andrew turn to for help?

Contains mature themes.

Misleading

This book was hugely disappointing. I was expecting, from the summary, that the photos...the faces ...would be much more the crux of the plot. It was superficial re. the missing young. None of the other faces created a story thread. Could have been more drama about those lives who insected with tragedy or misfortune in some way. Some surprising connections between one or three or.... Personalities were ok. Nothing insightful or unique. Trite . I finished it but would not recommend it at all.

It was hollow and I didn’t get it.

The story ended without closure. I don’t know what it was about after all the time spent listening to what is the point?

The originality of the story, its overall structure and rather excellent writing made this an unusually compelling listen.

Narration was quite good as well!

I recommend it. The gay aspects are handled honestly and not cheaply.
