The first book in the Sandy Bay Cozy Mystery series!

Meghan Truman always had a dream to become a Hollywood actress. Hollywood decided she wasn’t good enough. She left Hollywood broken but with a burning desire to start afresh in the Pacific Northwest, pursuing her second dream - opening a bakery.

She never expected that the owner of a rival establishment would be found dead and all eyes would be focused on her as the prime suspect.

As the new girl in town with a new bakery store, she’s determined to clear her name and find the murderer; otherwise she’ll have to leave Sandy Bay penniless and pitiful and possibly the murderer’s next victim.

Poison isn't her style regardless of the evidence.

This is a good storyline. It also shows you don't have to like one family member to like another. They can be totally different.

It is a mystery to be solved to keep Meghan's bakery open. She must find out who could have poisoned her pie and is surprised at the reason

Great Clean Cozy Mystery

Meghan always wanted to be an actress. After failing on her dream she decides her second dream is to open a bakery. She invests all her savings and is close to opening with permits approved. The Tea Shop owner from across the street barges into her bakery and threatens her to not open. He says there is only one shop needed in Sandy Bay. Then, he turns up dead. The characters are believable and likable. The storyline is interesting. Elana Merino does a great job with narration to carry you to the end of the book. You have to read to see how this book ends. I enjoyed this book .

Short, but truly sweet

Great start to a new series. Suspenseful, and with a well-written mystery, despite its length. Add in a hint of romance, quirky characters, and delicious desserts, and this has all the ingredients a cozy mystery lover looks for. Best of all, no bad language, sex scenes, cliffhangers, or graphic violence. Just pure, lighthearted enjoyment. I can't wait to read the next one.

Introduction to a new cozy series!

Wow, I really enjoyed this first book in the Sandy Bay series! Meghan comes to Sandy Bay to open a bakery. In the process she becomes involved in a murder. What follows is a quick, but fun tale about Sandy Bay and the interesting people that live there. This was a wonderful cozy mystery. I am already looking forward to the next one.

Apple Pie and Trouble

The story was predicable with little to no character development. The narrator ma do well to read for preschoolers but as an adult I found her performance irritating.
