This audio is a summary of Aristotle's Poetics, not his actual essay. It is very repetitive, making the same points over and over with the same exact words each time. The entire audiobook is presented as one chapter, which makes it impossible to go back and reference different sections if you ever wanted to. You can't even bookmark sections of the audio in order to review vocabulary or go back to topics of interest in the future. It's like a Cliff's Notes audio for middle schoolers. Not for ANYONE who wants a thorough or strong understanding of Aristotle's thoughts on dramatic writing. But that does make it easy to understand, which is good.

No, it doesn't cost very much. But it's not worth what it does cost, particularly since there are other audio recordings of the actual Poetic's text available on Audible for just $2 more. I'm about to buy one of those. I hope IT'S separated out inti chapters, or at LEAST allows me to bookmark specific sections as needed.

The narrator did a fine job...with what he was given. And I say that as a professional actress who has a couple of my own audiobook narrations available on this app!
