About this listen

They called him unfit to rule - a lowborn, callow boy, Uther's bastard. But his coming had been foretold in the songs of the bard Taliesin. He had learned powerful secrets at the knee of the mystical sage Merlin. He was Arthur Pendragon of the Island of the Mighty, who would rise to legendary greatness in a Britain torn by violence, greed, and war, ushering in a glorious reign of peace and prosperity - and who would fall at the treacherous hands of the one he loved more than life.

Took a lot of time to get used to, but I enjoyed this quite a bit

Took a lot of time to get used to The very unusual words, names, etc. plus the unusual way this story was presented, but I enjoyed this quite a bit. recommended, if you like this type of story or – if unfamiliar – you have the focus and patience to endure.

Really enjoyed listening

I read the Pendragon series years ago and listening to it brought it to life in a new way. Stephen Lawhead is a masterful author and I plan to listen to the other series as well.

Timeless classic

Immersive adventure into the great legend of King Arthur. It may be fiction, but the details and realistic plots make a wonderful adventure. I really enjoyed myself!

Lancelot

Wish there was Lancelot and Guinevere's myth in the story as well. He has all the other major themes but that.

the british accent fits well this book

I loathed only my own disconcentration. otherwise it was great. perhaps it would be great of the chapters were better labeled and if they corresponded with the numbers in audible.

Narrative

i loved the series, my only comment is that some of thecharacters voices sounded robotic without inflection.

Fabulous story and writing

Great except for the one note of this narrator for the whole book, someone that could have changed tone or voice would have done it much more justice.
