About this listen

Will artificial intelligence replace humans?

Artificial intelligence (AI) is progressing at a runaway pace, transforming everything it touches in its path, so much so that it no longer belongs to a distant future but an immediate reality. We are seeing how all sectors become “smart” and how the leading companies already invest high figures in making this new technology their future. Not only the giants, but more and more companies are also taking the step and get into the car of this, which is already assumed, the "third industrial revolution."

Robots, drones, music players, smart cities, medicine: AI is finding a way to penetrate everything. This sudden advance has led part of society to fear that it will begin to move us occupying the jobs that humans currently hold and eventually end up replacing us. Nothing is further from reality, Artificial intelligence, and its many use cases, are not without risks, but everything is part of natural, technological evolution.

With the improvement of automation, computers are now much faster and have much smarter algorithms. This has facilitated the work and has, in turn, led to the disappearance of specific jobs, but has also favored the birth of many others. Humans have been caught in many cases in monotonous and repetitive tasks that often make us waste too much time. Artificial intelligence comes to handle these types of situations, something really positive since it will allow us to have a more creative role in the world and focus on jobs that computers cannot perform as we do because they require the human capabilities of that they lack. In short, it is not about whether Artificial intelligence is bad or good, but about our use of it.

The evolution in the market is an inevitable part of this process, and we have attended it since the beginning of time as it advances parallel to how societies evolve. Artificial intelligence will change everything, professionally and also personally. This process of change will not be immediate, we have time to prepare and better understand the situation, but it has already begun.

In any case, we must bear in mind that this revolution is not going to develop in the same way in all places; it will depend on the evolutionary state of each market. For example, it will not be designed with the same immediacy and penetration in developed countries, than in those that lack a necessary infrastructure to implement it. While reducing the technology gap will take some time, with the use of technology and the implementation of correct policies in developing countries, it would be possible to achieve significant improvements and even overcome it. The only thing that could stifle development in these countries would be incorrect policies, undemocratic institutions, wars or other crises.

Artificial intelligence has been here for a long time, and we will see significant progress in many areas, home attendants, virtual reality, driverless cars, and chatbots that solve our doubts. Anyway, everything will evolve. There is some exaggeration and excessive coverage on the matter since it is always about what is in fashion, however, thanks to the progress that will be made in the coming years, sooner or later the same concept of AI will begin to sound obsolete since it will be fully integrated into our day today. In conclusion, we must merge with artificial intelligence to see it as what it really is, a foothold for teamwork, not an enemy.

Sleepy time for sure.

I thought this would go deep into AI, however was very above the surface and borderline boring. The only chapter was last chapter worth listening too about AI in the future, IOT and living in the 4th industrial revolution.

Narrator - I had to put this on 1.3 times. The voice was monotonous, monotone and boring. Do not listen in the car.

Overall, disappointing.
