About this listen
ASHTAVAKRA = 8 FOLD WISDOM
GITA = SONG for the EARNEST EAR
A DIALOGUE BETWEEN resourcefulness AND wisdom. Resourcefulness is young, healthy, strong, talented, fit and flexible. Wisdom is old, older than yonder mountain, older than the ocean, nay older than the stars.
This dialogue is a guide to achieve freedom from misery for a true devotee. Only a seeker who has been walking the path for a long long time can truly benefit from this text. This text examines the mind and intellect and reasoning from various angles. It tries to expose and dust every inch and quarter of the mind, and its various nooks and crannies.
The various memories, notions, opinions, wishes, emotions, feelings, desires and assertions Man has accumulated are put in context. It is clearly stated that Truth is Context based. Truth is Multidimensional. Without proper reference to time, place, occasion, situation, and audience, directives pertaining to Truth have little meaning.
Each fact and facet of life is examined threadbare. Each thought is stated boldly. The Absolute Truth or Brahman is arrived at by negating everything and also accepting everything. The need for a Master who has the Brahman experience is highly stressed.
This is a text to be listened to again and again. It helps to see one's experiences in this light again and again. Listening to this Gita helps to purify the mind and make the heart strong. This sacred text is one of the highest pillars of Vedanta, that states the noble Indian philosophy completely with clarity.
