 The DePriest Gang Book Series includes research on the evolution of the DePriest family in America: Volume 1 (c 1650-1750) starts with Robert DePriest, French Huguenot, who immigrated before 1689 and includes a wealth of information about early New Kent and Goochland, Virginia. Copies of original documents are included and data were obtained from Parish documents, Tax lists, Processioning Lists, War records, Censuses, Maps, Comparison tables, and more. Documentation includes not only the DePriests and their descendants but also neighbors as well as conspirators and Revolutionary soldiers. This volume should be of interest to anyone who has a DePriest in their family tree. Volume 2 (c. 1750-1850) continues the story with detailed documentation on the story of William DePriest, Colonial Counterfeiter and his conspirators. Also included is the story of his sons and their part in the Revolutionary War. Volume 3 (c. 1850-1950) gets more specific to the author’s line of DePriests starting with William who married into the Casey family and moved to Illinois and continues with his descendants in Missouri and into more modern times. Volume 4 (c. 1650-1711) The material in this volume contains my notes and data about the people of Colonial Virginia in the area of the New Kent County, Virginia. It is basically a collection of notes I made as I was trying to figure out the life of the DePriests of the time, but contains also information about neighbors and maps to help visualize the land of owners of the time. Though it is in rough format, other genealogists may find this information useful in helping to trace their line.
