About this listen
There is enormous cultural and language barrier between East and West and that is quite obvious to even outsiders when they compare the way or training approach and understanding of the art between East and West. There is also tremendous generational gap between old generation of teachers and young practitioners even within same culture boundaries. Throughout my years as a practitioner and also a teacher, I feel it is necessary to keep up to date with methodologies, and, perhaps more importantly, to create new methods of explaining the art to make it more clear for myself and everyone else. In an attempt to provide explanations that suit modern way of understanding the world, type of education and also different learning styles, I have varied my teaching and explaining methods to include various methods including different auditory, visual and kinesthetic approaches.
This book does not, by any means, represent a definitive conclusion in training, teachings, and research, because the practitioner must continually stay on the path of improving and developing; nor does it make any pretense to be the definitive answer to any 'style' or methodology of the Wing Chun system - rather it lays out the most important principles of the art for all to share and it is a starting point from where practitioner can continue his journey through the wonderful world of Chinese Kung Fu. The Book is culmination of almost forty years of research and training not only in the Wing Chun system but also life in Republic of China and comprehension of traditional Chinese culture, customs, beliefs, religion, martial arts laws and rules.
