About this listen
Twenty-nine-year-old Emma is an intelligent, strong-willed and ambitious public relations exec that has come a long way from her strict and humble upbringing. She is independent to a fault and has never been one to seek help. When she suspects her sudden and frequent nightmares are the cause of her rapidly deteriorating health, she turns to renowned psychiatrist and oneirologist, Dr. Edward Clark.
Dr. Clark isn’t surprised when he learns Emma’s nightmares have at least one thing in common—they involve trauma experienced from past romantic relationships. His concerns escalate, however, when he discovers she is losing the ability to differentiate her dreams from reality and witnesses her health plummet before his eyes.
As they unearth past traumas of control, manipulation and violence, they uncover shocking clues buried in the depths of Emma’s psyche that shed light on the darkness of her past. The diagnosis is more sinister than they could have ever imagined.

Mind bending thriller
This was a wild ride from start to finish! Emma’s nightmares bleed into her waking life, creating a chilling atmosphere that kept me hooked. As a strong and intelligent PR executive, she’s a captivating lead—tough yet vulnerable as she unravels the dark secrets of her past. Dr. Edward Clark, her psychiatrist, adds a steady presence amid the chaos, grounding the story.
The psychological twists are top-notch. Romasanta masterfully blurs the line between reality and illusion, making every chapter feel like a descent into the subconscious. Fast-paced, unsettling, and filled with jaw-dropping moments—this one’s a must-read if you love books that mess with your head.

Psychology, Dreams and Demons...oh my!
If you find yourself interested in psychology, dream psychology, demons, or a mix of the three this book is for you. What if your dreams were affecting your health? What if your ex's were in those dreams? This book is engaging, keeping you on your toes. I connected with the main character Emma, her growth is slow, but it comes with a bang towards the end. I absolutely need more from this author. The narrator does a fantastic job with this one, I am typically rather picky on the readers and I loved Lisa France's narration.
